My Best Friend

Today while in the car Millie calls up to me, "Mommy you my best fwiend". My heart melted. And the truth is she is my best friend too. :)

Amelia Island

So far today has been much better. Millie is feeling more like herself and we were even able to get out of the house for a short while. We went to Rite Aid for tissues and a toy then to eat a happy meal at Mammy and Pappy's house. Now Mil and Wayne are napping. I think staying at home was starting to get to Mil. We are usually on the go at least once or twice a day. So this morning she asked me if we could go to the beach. Well I couldn't take her to the real one so I set out to make a fake one. One of my facebook friends let her girls play in sand (cornmeal) in her kitchen not to long ago and said it wasn't too hard to clean up. So I dug out the Dora beach towel and the shovels and pale. I grabbed a big blue bowl and some shells. I poured 5 lbs of cornmeal in the bowl and for the next half hour Mil played in the sand. Then when she was done, she went to swim (bathtub) while Daddy and her played with the beach ball. And the cleanup really wasn't that bad 10 min, broom, dust buster and mop. Hey my floor needed the mopping anyway. I hope that is a memory she will keep. Messes will clean but memories will last :)

Bad Mommy

I hate it when Millie feels yucky. This morning she woke up with a fever (low grade 100.3), and a runny, sneezy nose. Her behavior is the same, but I find that my behavior changes dramatically when she is sick. For example her normal breakfast consists of a glass of milk and applesauce, or yogurt and on special occasions maybe some mini muffins or mini donuts, but today...... Well this morning she got cadbury mini chocolate eggs and diet cherry pepsi. I know, I know not great parenting but it was all she wanted. Second example it is not even 10:30am and she is napping on the couch. My rationalization, she is sick, she is little and she needs some extra spoiling. Oh well I guess I will pay for it tomorrow when she demands diet cherry pepsi :)

My Sweet Baby

My precious little lady has had a busy couple of days. On Tuesday Wayne was off and we had alot of family time. We took a quick trip to Bowling Green for pizza and Kmart. Then we stopped by Uncle Josh and Aunt Maggie's to visit and play with their puppies. Millie loved them to say the least.

Today was a little less eventful, but days with my little Millie are never boring. We were removing our Valentine decorations and putting out the St. Patrick's Day (yes we have St. Patrick's Day decorations). Mil saw a shamrock I purchased at Mighty Dollar. She said, "Mommy it is beautiful, I wub it, take my picture with it". Not only did we have a photoshoot but we also had to do hair and wardrobe. She wanted her new "Patrick Shirt" and a "big bow". So once she was camera ready she strutted her stuff. I love this kid.

My Funny Valentine

So when you look at the calendar this weekend has all the makings of a really crappy one. It is Valentines weekend, and Wayne has to work 3 days in a roll, and now they are calling for additional snow. I started to feel sorry for myself, but it is actually turning out nice. For one thing my in laws AKA Mammy and Pappy were wonderful and took Millie to a birthday party today and then out to eat and to their house. That meant I had a free Sat for the first time in forever. I didn't do anything wonderful but the down time was much needed. Then when I picked up Millie she was in quite a funny mood. She kept me laughing all evening, and on the way home told me all about the party. When Wayne came in from work, after his shower he rocked Mil and put her to bed while I fixed a late supper, we just finished eating and Wayne is watching the UK game. It was nice to eat supper in peace. I love eating with my little baby but sometimes you just don't want everything on your plate to have tiny finger holes in it. Tomorrow is Valentines day, Mil and I will be going to church and then to lunch with my parents AKA Nonna and Papaw. It won't be perfect b/c my Wayne will be working but at least I have my little funny valentine and she makes everything better.
Hugs and Kisses

Just Checking In

Ok so I haven't posted in awhile. Our lives can be summed up in one word SNOW!!! A few weeks ago I would have told you how much I missed the big snows of my childhood, but today, I don't feel quite so nostalgic. Today snow and I are not friends. It is really starting to become more of a worry and concern. Oh well at least Millie loves it, but even she said today, when asked if she wanted to go out, "nah, too cold". :) Someone remind me of this post in July when it is 100 outside. Til then everyone stay safe and warm.
