TIMEOUT

Starting Thursday we have been a very busy family. Thursday I worked and Wayne had Millie. She had ballet class sign ups at 6 so they met me in BG at my office to go to the dance studio, followed by dinner, Target and Toys R Us. We didn't get home til after 8. The Friday I worked and Wayne had Millie agian and he had class at the hospital. He took Mil with him, interesting, and then they met me for lunch. After work I went to the grocery, and once agian got home late around 7. Saturday I had to work agian and once agian Wayne had Mil. When I got home at lunch we all laid down for a nap. Then we woke up in time to have 30 min to get to a birthday party. A "pool/ sprinkler" party. We had a nice time and got home around 7 agian. I know 7 and 8 don't seem late to most but we usually make it a point not to be out so late because Millie goes to bed at 9 and we try to let her wind down. So last night when we all got in we were not at our best. We were all yelling at each other. Millie wanted us to "Be Quiet", I wanted her to "Quit Banging", Wayne wanted us to "Listen". Next thing you know Millie and I are crying and Wayne just looked defeated. That is when Wayne said "Enough". We all set on Millie's bed and prayed for patience with each other, then we all hugged and loved on each other. Then the decision was made to just say no today. No grocery, no trips, no eating out, no visiting, no alarms. Millie woke us up at 9:30, we layed around and made brownies, then we all took a nap and Millie woke us up at 3:15, we played alphabet bingo and strawberry shortcake memory match. We are all outside now, Millie is riding her bike, Wayne is snapping pictures and you know what I am doing. I guess the moral of the story is sometimes you just have to say "TIMEOUT", it's too much. I am just glad that Wayne is wise enough to know when. I think we all feel better, not as stressed. It has also given us time to prepare for next week. Tomorrow Wayne goes back to work and Millie and I are at it agian. We have plans to borrow a new book and movie from the library and maybe visit all the grandparents. But I know it will be more pleasant because today we had a day off from the rest of the world.
